I bought a Thermos portable gas grill at Target last weekend, and with it a 1LB Propane tank. One problem, however. According to the instructions, I’m supposed to have the the regulator (or whatever the dial thing is called) such that looking down on it the dial is straight up and the connection for the tank is straight down. But when I plug my small propane tank into this and set it down, the grill is shorter than the tank, so my grill ends up on an incline with the tank lifting it 2 or 3 inches off the ground. I’m quite sure that the tank is securely attached to the grill, it doesn’t look like those inches are supposed to go away if I connected it tighter or something. As a solution, I would just turn the tank at an angle, but the instructions seem to suggest that the tank should always be vertical. Are there different sizes of 16. 4oz propane tanks? Is it not a big deal to just rotate the tank 45 degrees or so to allow my grill to sit flat? How can I make this work?
