Gas or Charcoal for my a Father’s Day gift?

I want my husband a portable grill for Father’s Day. I can not decide between gas or coal. I guess we’ll use for picnicking family for a weekend (we live in a very urban). I’ve never blown problems before and I meet to decide between gas or coal. I know he would enjoy more coal. . but I’m not sure how you can manage with a lunch at the charcoal grill, then back to the car. How long should we stand on this stage? What about gas? How long after eating grids could vacate. . . advice? All relevant information would be nice! I looked around and, ideally, have a Weber, which is $ 150 or less. A model of Joe “smoky”, “go anywhere grill” or “Q” model. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Could I use charcoal in a Char-Broil Patio grill?

I bought it used, and the previous owner had charcoal pieces under the electric part of the grill. I don’t know if he used charcoal and electricity at the same time or just the charcoal. I know that charcoal gives more flavor, so can I use it in conjunction with the electric grill?
or maybe the chared remains were ceramic briquettes or lava rocks?? im not sure. . .
or wood chips?
here’s the model,

Grilling: Charcoal Vs. Gas Grills

In the spring of light down on us and the grills start coming out in earnest to the patio and covered almost all the old question often is better: gas grills or charcoal barbecues, and why? What it really comes down to a few key features that each offers the consumer. What are their individual priorities such as cost, taste, energy, etc. in a grid determines the type of barbecue would be most appropriate for you. In this article we will discuss some of the most important aspects of gas and charcoal barbecues below to help you find your way to the type of barbecue. Convenience Many people opt for a grid based on the convenience associated with it. Is it easy to turn? Do you need time to cook? In terms of how convenient it is for cooking, gas grills win. With the gas grill, turn the gas buttons, press the power button, and voilĂ : the cooking can start in ten minutes. With charcoal, however, although it is simple enough to light the briquettes of charcoal, which has averaged about 30 minutes to reach the grill to medium heat. Thus, depending on your lifestyle and how often you use the grid, it is possible that time or not. Maintenance Caring for your grill, as is the need of all his property, is also a factor to consider when choosing a gas or charcoal. Hands down, the gas grill is easier to clean. . Many people pay only the previous meat, vegetables, burn fish before grilling again, and occasionally do laundry. With charcoal grills, however, the disorder is more pronounced, and usually require cleaning more frequent maintenance than a gas. Taste Now, when it comes to taste, this is where the playing field levels a little, as the ratio of many people who fish, steaks, hamburgers, and whatever you choose to grill flavor much tastier and full of charcoal smoke from the gas barbecue grill. This is logical because the food is burned directly above briquette charcoal, and therefore have the rich taste of smoked brick, while the gas flame does not smoke tank unless you cook your food more hours. Fuel Economy When it comes to fuel economy of your barbecue, it is also important to recognize the desirability of various fuels / grill choices. The gas grill operates on a propane tank, depending on the frequency of use can last all summer without being replaced. Briquette charcoal, on the other hand, without taking the time to use, so be prepared to make frequent trips to the store for bags of charcoal, if you are a passionate cook. During the summer, a gas grill propane tank will last longer compared to the trips you have to do to replace your briquettes charcoal, coal to fuel more expensive. Price When it comes to barbecue grills and prices, the range is rather wide. Typically, gas grills are $ 150 to over $ 1000. Charcoal, on the other, range from $ 50 to $ 450. So once again it comes to how much to spend, and what conveniences, if you need a grid.
