How do I make a restaurant quality grilled chicken sandwich?

You know, like grilled chicken sandwiches Appleby, peppers, cheddar. I’m not much of a cook, but I heard about the chicken marinate, but do not know how or what to wear. I do not know how to cook the chicken well, I have a gas stove and grill, George Foreman medium at my disposal.

3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c. onion, minced
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
2 tsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. frozen apple juice concentrate, undiluted
4 (4 oz.) chicken breast halves, skinned and boned
Vegetable cooking spray
4 (2 oz.) whole wheat rolls, split(or your preference)
Small pieces of Gherkin
8 slices tomato
Combine first six ingredients in a large sandwich plastic bag. Add chicken. Seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours, turning bag occasionally. Remove chicken from bag, reserving marinade. Coat grill rack with cooking spray; place on grill over medium hot coals. Place chicken on rack and cook 8 minutes on each side, basting frequently with reserved marinade. Remaining items are for the sandwich.

Not sure about the places you mentioned but here is how I do it.Purchase boneless chicken breasts.Take out of package and place on solid surface.Put a bit of plastic wrap on top and pound it (use a large can )to desired thickness. The thinner the faster it cooks so you want medium thin for what you are trying to do.You can purchase marinade in the stores. You can also use salad dressing like Italian.Marinade it overnight or for at least 1-4 hours.Preheat George F grill and cook for about2 minutes per side or till no longer pink in middle.Hope I helped.Good luck and I’m sure it will be tasty however you cook it.
I just thought of another yummy way. This is what I do take extra virgin olive oil enough to cover chicken pieces.Crush a clove or two of garlic.Take the yellow part off of a lemon this is called zest.Don’t use the white undernealth it.Chop it up real fine.Than use the juice of this lemon and fresh chopped parsley.Marinate chicken in this but not for to long cause lemon juice will start to cook the chicken.Maybe 1/2 hour.Try this it’s awesome and so easy.

You are right in that it’s the marinade that makes the sandwich at the restaurants. Since you say you’re not much of a cook I suggest you check your grocery store in the condiment section. You’ll find all kind of different marinades from Garlic to Asian to Jerk and everything in between. Then just buy some boneless/skinless chicken breast (which you can get a great buy on in the frozen meat section, they sell them by the bagful) Thaw them out, put in a plastic ziplock with plenty of marinade and let sit for at least two hours. Grill on your Foreman or broil or grill outside.
Remember restaurants don’t just put the chicken on any old bun. Go to the bakery and get like a cottage bun or a crusty type roll.
