What burner is better on a gas grill? Brass or Stainless Steel?

I look at the shelves and I can not decide which is the best material for the burners. I think the grid should be covered cast Porceliner unless someone thinks otherwise. Let me know your opinion.

never heard of brass for burners-stainless would be my choice-takes the repeated hot/cold temps and is not affected by moisture
porcelain covered cast iron grate is good

Well I’ve never seen brass used on any hot part of the grill (only in the valves and mixing components that feed the burners).
Brass shouldn’t be used for the grating because it would react readily with the acids in food and has a lower melting point. Might introduce contaminants into the food.
Porceline covered steel holds up well, as does stainless. Plated steel is used on the cheap ones, but doesn’t last.

Remember that Brass is a rather soft material and most likely will not hold up well in the long furn. Stainless is very durable and used by most manufactures of gas grills.
Porcelain is fine but it can chip rather easily. Plain cast iron is durable but rusts easily and needs to be cleaned frequently.
It’s your decision as to what you really want.
