Looking for an old barbeque sauce recipe?

Years ago my grandmother had a recipe for barbecue sauce simple but very good. I managed to lose the recipe and can not find anything like it in books or online. I remember most, if not all the ingredients, but have no idea of the measures. Was performed using a small bottle of ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and a few drops of liquid smoke, I think that’s all there was to it. He had no added spices, was very easy to do and was good at almost any meat. Does anyone have the recipe? Of course, I would like to have again. Thank you!

    BARBECUE SAUCE #3
    Ingredients:

    3 tablespoon vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 (40-oz.) bottle ketchup
    2/3 cup cider vinegar
    ½ cup brown sugar
    1/3 cup COLGIN WORCERSTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 teaspoon COLGIN NATURAL HICKORY LIQUID SMOKE
2 and ½ teaspoon chili powder
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon dry (ground) mustard
    ½ teaspoon black pepper
    1 teaspoon ground ginger

    Instructions:
Heat the vegetable oil in a 3-quart saucepan, add the onion and garlic, and cook for five to seven minutes or until soft. Chopping the onion with a sharp knife is a task for an adult or a child ten years or older. Younger kids who are game to help can try using a safer pumpkin-carving saw. To prevent watering eyes, peel the onion, cut it in half, and rinse it under water before chopping.
Add the ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke and stir well. Stir in the chili powder, paprika, mustard, black pepper and ginger. Let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.

The first and last have all the ingredients that you mentioned. The one with Coke sounds pretty interesting.

    I hope this helps. :)
