Calling all grillers and propane gas experts. . .

Like many on the 4th of July, I am grilling (on a new portable grill). The portable (non-reusable) propane tank I purchased has the “228/286″ number, but the manual lists the “232/290″ number. What is the difference?

I have looked online, but cannot find a clear answer. Does one produce a hotter flame due to releasing more gas? Is one an older version? There are also two sizes: 14. 1 oz tall size and a short and fat 16. 4 size.
I will also mention I have a Charmglow table-top grill; the manual lists model number 820-0002. Just bought at Home Depot.
