7 Responses to “Typically, what meat is used with a vinegar-based sauce in a Carolina barbeque? ?”

  1. TX2step Says:

Probably pork. In Texas, BEEF is true BBQ; but pork is more popular in the rest of the South. Pork ribs or pork roast

  2. sorria86 Says:

Pork is the meat of choice in the Carolinas.

  3. "insert nickname here" Says:

    Pork

  4. Tigger Says:

Shrimp and Pork. Ribs not roast. The roasts are very salty and the vinegar only brings the salt out more.

  5. Tell Your Girl I Say Hi!! Says:

    Pork Shoulder

  6. J D Says:

smoked pork shoulders. Are you more interested in the sauce or the meat? BBQ varies from region to region in the Carolinas. There’s Lexington style, Eastern style, etc, but they’re all pork.
