Here is a great sweet bbq sauce recipe that uses apple juice and apple cider vinegar that I am sure you will enjoy. The ingredients that you need include:

1 cup of ketchup,
1/4 cup of apple juice,
1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar,
1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce,
1 teaspoon of garlic powder, a small amount of grated apple,
a small amount of grated onion,
a small amount of grated green pepper,
and pepper to taste.
All you do is add on ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to boil and then simmer for around 15 minutes.

Good luck

This is the recipe for my own personal BBQ sause.
Best in the world if I do say so myself...
Make a large batch ( 4 - 6 recipes ) & preserve it because
it is somewhat of a chore to make it in small amounts ( single recipes )

16 oz. Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup Dry White Wine
1 Tbs. Dry Mustard
2 Tbs. Red Garlic Vinegar
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs. Tobasco Sauce
2 Tbs. *Cajun Power Garlic Sauce ( or 1 tsp garlic powder )
1/4 Cup Honey
1 Tbs. Chili Powder
3 Tbs. Minced Yellow Onion
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1 Tbs. Liquid Smoke
2 Tbs. Molasses

Blend all ingredients well and simmer for 25 - 35 minutes.
Careful, this is a 'ploppy' sauce, and it will bubble and splash
on you while simmering. Keep refrigerated for immediate use
or canned or frozen for long term storage.

Yeah. I use ketchup, cola, splash of orange juice, some kind of seasoning that is smoky(paprika is a good one), garlic, vinegar(splash) I don't measure anything ever so I can't give you measurements. I, like you, needed bbq sauce and didn't have anything handy so I put some together. I had to keep tasting is as I added seasoning. So you may think it is not working but it ends up coming together. I like it spicy so I put Frank's hot sauce in it. I used it were I worked and they liked it so I guess it was good.
