barbeque sauce help?


i am making barbeque sauce vinegar base and it taste tangy (gets you in the cheeks) what ingredient can i use to take this out

    Brown sugar and some water then let it simmer for a while to cook down.

    Balance out the tartness with a little sweetness such as adding honey or sugar. Brown sugar or honey would be better than white sugar in your BBQ sauce. If you don’t have any of these then try adding some molasses.

    honey, maple syrup..something sweet to counteract the sour.

    I have heard of people using apple butter. You can buy it in the jelly/jam section of your store.

    Also, try reducing the amount of vinegar and add a little lemon juice instead.

    I would add a small can of tomato sauce to increase the volume and then add brown sugar in small amounts until the acidity balances out to your taste. I worry that adding just sweetener alone may make your sauce too sweet and make your sauce burn easier when you add it to the food on the grill.
